16.3.2009 BioModics acquires drug delivery assets of Nanon which is no longer operational. A portfolio of intellectual property, facilities and collaborative drug delivery projects was acquired. The benefits include a broadening of BioModics proprietary technology portfolio in drug delivery. BioModics has become a key player in sustained drug delivery over long periods (months) from silicone products. BioModics customer base is expanded to include several new pharmaceutical and medico companies. The proprietary technologies have broad applicability and address key needs such as antimicrobial catheters, wound care products and protein delivery. BioModics has gained the capability to combine functional surfaces with polymer reservoirs for unprecedented device performance.
1.5.2008 BioModics enters a project with DTU Nanotech and the Danish Polymer Centre. A Liquid Core Waveguide Technology for Diagnostics is in development for a new sensor concept combining block copolymer chemistry, nano imprint lithography and optofluidics. Cooperating partners include Novo Nordisk A/S, Coloplast A/S and Radiometer A/S. |
